Pups, Paps & Powernaps

Hello Lucy Here!

I had an extremely busy weekend as Saturday was a very important day in the doggy calendar. It was the 2016 PupAid event which took place in Primrose Hill, London!  The event is the largest in Europe raising awareness of puppy farming!

Although the day has a serious message, the event is a fun one to bring two-legged and four-legged supporters together who want to see change for the dogs suffering on puppy farms, like I once was.  The sun shone and people turned out in their thousands to enjoy the activities.  Celebrities, boutique doggy shopping village, vegan food, fun dog show, all made the day pretty pawsome!

I had endless cuddles and smooches from everyone I met, including lots of faces I think you’ll recognise. The PA aka Mummy said, who wouldn’t want to smooch this face?!  Celebrities showing their support included Lauren Goodger, Peter Egan, Rachel Riley, Strictly’s Pasha Kovalev, Celebrity Big Brother’s Chloe Khan, Big Brother winner Jason Burrill, Sinitta, Meg Matthews and Michelle Collins to name a few.

There were fun dog show classes such as ‘Most Macho’ judged by Sinitta of course!  Best Rescue, Dog That Looks Most Like A Celeb, Most Stylish Pooch In London and lots more. It was lovely to see so many gorgeous dogs in the ring strutting their stuff!

An important and poignant part of the day was the ex-breeding parade.  I was in the ring alongside some doggy friends who had endured the same start to life as me.  Our stories were read out to the waiting crowd, letting them know the suffering we had been subjected to for many years at the hands of puppy farmers, simply so they could make ££££!

As well as cuddles with celebs I enjoyed numerous power naps, lots of treats and even a cone of special carrot flavour doggy ice!  By the end of the day I was pooped and did my classic pose – falling asleep upside down in Mummy’s arms, after all it’s not a day out with Lucy The Rescue Cavalier if I don’t do that, always a sign I’ve enjoyed myself!
