Lost Dog in Norfolk

If your dog has gone missing in Norfolk, take a deep breath. Most dogs are found quickly — often within a few hours. Acting calmly and contacting the right people makes all the difference when you’re searching for a lost dog.

What to Do When You Have a Lost Dog in Norfolk:

Contact your microchip company to report a lost dog

Call your microchip company immediately.  This stops anyone from changing ownership details and ensures your contact number is correct.
Companies like Petlog can also send missing alerts across Norfolk and the UK.

Contact the local dog warden

Dog wardens often hear about lost dogs first. In Norfolk, Animal Warden Services manage stray and missing dogs for most councils.

Spread the word

Spread the word on social media sites such as Lost and Found Pets In Norfolk and Suffolk and put posters up in the area.

Keep going back to the area where the dog was last seen as they may well return.  Leave something at the site that smells familiar, for example a dog blanket, toy or an item of clothing. Ask local people to check their garages and sheds.

Prevention

When travelling or on holiday, a GPS tracker can give peace of mind. They attach to the collar and connect to your phone, showing your dog’s location in real time.
Also check that your dog’s ID tag includes both your home and temporary contact numbers.
