Doggies, it’s time to leave your flying-ring toys at home when heading to the beach! Just a reminder that since 2023, the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk has banned plastic flying-rings from all its beaches. This follows a successful campaign led by Jenny Hobson, a volunteer at the RSPCA animal hospital in East Winch.
We know doggies would never deliberately leave toys behind, but sometimes things get lost or dropped and they then get washed out to sea. Sadly, this can hurt our seal friends—they can poke their heads through flying-rings and get stuck!
A big paw-some well done to King’s Lynn Council, the first authority to ban flying-rings. Here’s hoping more councils follow their lead!
