It’s Snowdrop time at Walsingham Abbey

Carpets of snowdrops mingled with aconites have naturalised throughout 18 acres of grounds and woodland, and along the banks of the River Stiffkey which runs through the Abbey Grounds.

It’s Snowdrop time at Walsingham Abbey

If you’re looking for a pawsome day out I can recommend the Snowdrop Walk at Walsingham Abbey.

The gardens and grounds at the Abbey are very famous as this is the site of the ruins of the medieval ‘Priory of our Lady of Walsingham’, a very impawtant place of pilgrimage from medieval times to today.

You can walk amongst the ruins and see the snowdrops which are very pretty. The walk continues along paths by the River Stiffkey and there are many acres of woodland and river walks to enjoy.

If you are not tired out after this you can take a walk along the old railway line which is a nice easy path (45 mins. or so there and back), followed by lunch at the local pub.

You must stay on your lead within the Abbey Grounds.

Snowdrop season 2025: Monday 27th January – Sunday 2nd March, daily 10am – 4pm.

Admission is at the High Street Gate. Adult £7.00, child 6-16 £2.75 (under 6 free).

Stout footwear is recommended if there has been a lot of rain as the ground can be wet, muddy and potentially slippery in places.
